On Sunday afternoon, May 21st, the Brookings Fire Department as well as Cal-Ore were dispatched to an ATV accident on North Bank Chetco River Rd.
Emergency personnel were dispatched to the area known as ‘Nook bar’ on N. Bank Chetco River Rd just before 3:00pm, where first responders were informed that they would encounter a single occupant found in the road.
While responding to the scene, first responders requested the response of the Reach19 helicopter to airlift the subject out of the area and to emergency services.
The crash victim was was reported to be unconscious and struggling to breathe at the time of call, and first arriving personnel began assessing and triaging the victim while preparing to transport the crash victim to Redwood bar, where the Reach19 helicopter was prepared and waiting.
No further information has been released at this time.
