In an effort to accelerate the estimated completion date on the slide and roadwork on Hwy. 101 at Last Chance Grade from November to the end of August, CalTrans has announced that a new workweek schedule will include closures.
Beginning Tuesday, July 6th, Last Chance Grade on U.S. 101 south of Crescent City in Del Norte County, will begin a new work week schedule beginning with Hwy. 101 closures Monday through Thursday starting at 8:00am to Noon. Hwy. 101 will then re-open from noon to 3:00pm with another closure from 3:00pm to 7:00pm.
On Fridays, Hwy. 101 will have an 8:00am to Noon closure. At all other times, including weekends, motorists should anticipate 30-minute delays.
