Neighbor Calls in Home Robbery

On Thursday morning, at about 8:30 am, the Medford Police Department was dispatched to the 3500 block of Princeton Way for a residential Burglary in progress. An alert neighbor reported they had observed a man breaking into the residence through the front window.

A Medford Police Officer arrived within minutes and as they were directing additional officers to the scene, the suspect exited the front door and fled on foot.

Officers chased the suspect and he was eventually captured in the parking lot of the Hillcrest Business Park, approximately one block away. James was uncooperative with police and he resisted arrest.

The investigation revealed the suspect, 29-year-old Andrew James, is not known to the homeowners. He entered the residence and stole clothing, which he was wearing when he fled. James’s personal belongings were recovered inside the home.

He was lodged at the Jackson County Jail on charges of Burglary 1, Theft 2 and Criminal Mischief 2.
