Beach conditions are expected to become hazardous with the potential of sneaker waves along the Southern Oregon and Northern California coast south of Cape Blanco. Do not let the ocean fool you. Long-period waves can generate lulls of wave activity making the ocean look deceivingly calm and draw people closer to the water.
Caution is recommended as there will be long periods of small wave activity that will make the ocean look deceivingly small. These lulls typically end with a large set of breaking waves that will wash much farther up beaches, crash over rocks, jetties, and outcroppings, and could easily knocking a person down and dragging them into the surf.
Never turn your back to the ocean and plan on keeping a safe distance from the surf.
