National Weather Service Issues Flood Warnings for Much of the Oregon Coast Extending as Far South as Eureka

The National Weather Service issued Flood Warnings as late as late Friday evening stretching from as far north as Reedsport and extending as far as Eureka to the south as periods of heavy rain are forecast to continue through Sunday.

Expected rainfall totals through Sunday

Moderate to heavy rainfall and gusty winds are forecast to continue this weekend as an atmospheric river impacts the northern California and southern Oregon coastlines.

Significant rises along northern California and southern Oregon river systems are expected this weekend into Monday. This rainfall will increase the risk for both flash flooding, especially over area burn scars, and small stream and river flooding.

A Flood Watch is in effect for Saturday afternoon through Sunday afternoon for Del Norte and portions of Humboldt County. Localized flooding, rock/mudslides, and rapid rise of rivers, streams and creeks are possible.
