Just after 2:00pm, Sunday afternoon, units from the Illinois Valley Fire District, Rural Metro Fire – Josephine County, Oregon Department of Forestry, American Medical Response, Grants Pass Fire Rescue were dispatched and responded to reports of a structure fire on Hwy 199 just north of O Brien.
As the fire burned, there was some spread to surrounding wildland, which was quickly contained by the Oregon Department of Forestry. Two firefighters were transported with heat related issues, by American Medical Response, for further evaluation.
The fire is under investigation at this time.
