Rural Metro Fire and AMR-Josephine County were dispatched to a rollover on Interstate 5. Numerous initial reports received by 911 indicated the vehicle was over an embankment and on fire.
Upon arrival, rescue crews found a box van on its side, having crashed through the guardrail. Both occupants self-extricated and were transported with minor injuries.
The fire was determined to be steam from engine fluids leaking onto the hot engine. The truck did not contain any hazardous materials. The Oregon State Police is investigating the incident.
