Morning Fire Destroys Home

Thursday, September 19th, just after 6:00 am, the Illinois Valley Fire District responded to a structure fire off of Takilma Rd. American Medical Response responded in the event of any injuries.

Rural Metro also sent a mutual aid crew to assist Illinois Valley Fire with the two story wood frame house that was totally engulfed in flames when the call came into 911 dispatch. All the occupants in the home were able to exit without injury.

Power also responded to disconnect the power to the house for safety reasons. Illinois Valley Fire CERT provided traffic control and Filled air bottles. Illinois Valley Fire Rehab provided firefighter services.

Oregon Department of Forestry responded to prevent the fire’s spread into the wildland. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Illinois Valley Fire District fire marshal.
