Just after 9:00 pm Saturday night, officers were dispatched to the Golden Wok, on S. Riverside Avenue for an armed robbery in progress. It was reported that the suspect was purporting to be armed with a firearm.
Officers arrived on the scene in less than one minute and found the robbery was still in progress. Three officers entered the business and confronted the suspect.
The suspect did not obey commands and challenged the officers. The officers then tased the suspect which had the desired effect.
It was determined the suspect did not have a weapon during the robbery, and 57-year-old Richard Eric Shriven was taken into custody.
