Man Survives 8hrs. After Being Thrown From Vehicle

At about 8:00pm Saturday evening, Oregon State Police Trooper Wertz and Recruit Larson responded to a report of a silver car over the embankment on the west side of Highway 101 near Depoe Bay. The Troopers located the concealed car and negotiated the steep hillside, but found the vehicle unoccupied. Trooper Wertz noticed, what looked like a trail leading down past the car and followed it.

Approximately 100 feet from the vehicle, the injured driver was located. It is believed driver had been over the embankment for more than 8 hours.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Oregon and Depoe Bay Fire District were on scene to assist with getting the driver up the hillside and secured to be transported by Life Flight Network to an area hospital in Portland.
