Late last week Oregon State Police Troopers responded to a report of an injured person who had fallen into the tidal area at Natural Bridges near Highway 101 in Brookings.
The initial report came from a Good Samaritan who was visiting Natural Bridges and heard cries for help from below. Being unable to reach the man, the Good Samaritan called authorities for assistance.
The Troopers arrived on scene, but were unable to reach the victim safely. The REACH Air Medical Services Helicopter was called. The helicopter was able to maneuver into the inner bowl, landing on the rocks.
The injured man was taken to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries.
