Medford Fire Department crews responded to a reported structural collapse call Wednesday evening, February 5th, with a person possibly entrapped in the alleged crumbled carport structure.
Engine 15, Heavy Rescue 14, and Squad 14 responded to the scene of the carport that had given way under the weight of heavy snow, trapping a man beneath it after a neighbor heard his calls for help and quickly dialed 911.
First responding units arrived on scene and used technical rescue skills and specialized equipment to lift the carport and free the trapped individual.
Once safely removed, the victim was transported to a local hospital for medical care.
