On Saturday, March 23rd just before noon, Justin Denney, an inmate at the Josephine County Jail escaped the facility. Denney was able to access the ventilation system of the jail by way of a human-made hole in the roof of a janitor closet. Once in the ventilation system, Denney was then able to access the roof of the jail.
Deputies immediately began checking the exterior of the jail when Denney was observed on the roof of the jail. Denney jumped from the roof and ran from Deputies. After a foot chase, Deputies along with Officer from Grants Pass Department of Public Safety took Denney into custody.
All inmates, including Denney have been accounted for and there is no threat to the public. This incident is under investigation by the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety. Further details will be released by the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety when available.
