Late Monday morning, just before 11:00am, the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office, Rural Metro Fire, and American Medical Response were dispatched to a logging accident high in a remote area above West Pickett Creek.
Early reports indicated a choker setter had been struck by a rolling log which he was cutting with a chain saw, and had become pinned under the log approximately 250 yards down the mountain below the landing.

After EMTs from Rural Metro reached the scene, it was confirmed the logger, later identified as 26 year old Cody Anderson, was deceased.
A 5 hour recovery operation in coordination with the logging company and rescue crews completed the recovery of the body which was then released to the funeral home.
