On Wednesday afternoon a Josephine County Sheriff’s Deputy was traveling on US-199 in Selma when a white pickup occupied by a male and female passed by him traveling at approximately 95 mph.
The Deputy attempted to catch up to the speeding vehicle at which time the driver rammed a gate and eventually ran on foot. The suspect was quickly apprehended and was found to be in possession of a stolen firearm.
The suspect, Michael Martinho was transported and lodged in the Josephine County Jail for Josephine County Sheriff’s Office warrants, an Oregon Parole Board warrant as well as Felony attempt to Elude, Theft I, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Reckless Driving, Recklessly endangering of another, Interfering with a Police Officer and Felon in Possession of a Restricted Weapon.
The female passenger was transported by ambulance to Three Rivers Medical Center. She did not suffer any significant injuries.
