Man Arrested Regarding Early March Homicide and Charged with Second Degree Murder

Grants Pass Police officers and detectives have arrested the suspect regarding a homicide that occurred in early March, 2025.  

The individual, identified as 30 year old James Ross from Grants Pass, was being sought for a homicide that occurred on March 4th, 2025, at about 3:00am, after a 57 year old male was transported to Three Rivers Medical Center from the 1200 block of Rogue River Highway with significant head trauma, of which the victim succumbed to several weeks later.   

After the case was transferred to the Major Crimes Unit for investigation, Ross was determined too be the suspect after multiple interviews and other investigative methods were used by Grants Pass detectives to build their case, however, whereabouts of Ross were unknown at that time.  

At approximately 3:00pm Sunday afternoon, April 13th, Grants Pass Police officers and detectives arrested James Ross without incident at the Robertson Bridge Boat Landing, and lodged him at the Josephine County Jail for second-degree Murder and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
