Just before 7:30pm Friday evening, September 18th, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a fatal stabbing in the Elderberry Flats.
Although the suspect had left the scene, the reporting party was at the scene during the incident when Deputies arrived on scene. Deputies found one deceased male adult.
The investigation lead to the Monday arrest of an Eagle Point area transient identified as 20 year old Brenden Rex Stansell.
Stansell has been lodged at Jackson County Jail on charges of Murder Second Degree and Assault First Degree.
Identity of the victim is not being released pending notification of next of kin.
