Multiple agencies including the Grants Pass Police Department, the Rogue Area Drug Enforcement team, the Oregon State Police Explosive Unit, Homeland Security and the Drug Enforcement Administration, served a drug-related search warrant in Merlin, late Monday afternoon, February 5th.
The search warrant revealed eight firearms, 3 of which were found to be stolen, US currency, illegal explosives including blasting caps and other high explosives and multiple ounces of methamphetamine were discovered during the service of the warrant.
The suspect, identified as Michael Dills, was charged with multiple counts including Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine. Dillswas lodged at the Josephine County Jail and additional drug and gun-related charges will be referred to the Josephine County District Attorney’s Office.
