Last night at about 6:28 p.m., Medford Police Officers responded to the Dairy Queen on Morrow Road for a report of a victim who was assaulted and had had his car stolen.
Upon arrival to the scene it was determined that the 55 year old victim was in the parking lot eating food, as an unknown person was approaching cars in the parking lot asking for money.
The suspect approached the victim in his 2007 Chevy Trailblazer, opened the door and told him to get out. A fight between the two ensued, but the suspect was able to overpower the victim.
The suspect jumped in the victim’s vehicle and took off. He struck another occupied vehicle in the parking lot, before fleeing the scene. Bystanders attempted to follow the stolen vehicle but lost it.
The victim went to the hospital, where he was treated and released for injuries. The stolen vehicle contained the victim’s wallet, phone and other property.
Just after 8:30pm, alert witnesses reported a suspicious male in their neighborhood. He was associated with the stolen vehicle parked nearby. Officers surrounded the area and were able to arrest the suspect, who was identified as 25 year old Andrew Nicholas Seelig. Almost all of the victim’s property was recovered.
Andrew Nicholas Seelig was lodged for Robbery 3, and numerous other charges.
