Very early Sunday morning, January 8th, Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched at about 4:27am to a business on Myrtle Avenue regarding reports of a burglary.
Upon arrival to the seen, Deputies observed major damage to the front doors and the business’ ATM. During their investigation, deputies obtained surveillance footage depicting two suspects ramming the business with a vehicle and then attempting to drive off with the ATM.
Through further investigation, deputies identified one of the suspects as 41-year-old Nathan Aaron Ruptak.
On January 16th, at about 10:47pm, deputies on patrol in the McKinleyville area located Ruptak at a residence and Ruptak was taken into custody without incident. During a search of Ruptak incident to arrest, deputies located ammunition.
Ruptak was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on charges of burglary, vandalism and prohibited person in possession of ammunition, in addition to warrant charges of grand theft of a firearmand burglary.
