Just before 2:30pm, Thursday afternoon, September 29th, Crescent City Police Officers were dispatched to Chase Bank regarding a report of an attempted bank robbery.
Initial Officers on scene worked with Del Norte County Sheriff’s Office dispatch to get initial information out to other responding officers and deputies.
Crescent City Police Chief Griffin and Del Norte County Sheriff Scott worked together searching the downtown area before the subject, identified as 51 year old Justin Munger, was located by Chief Griffin and detained in the Beachfront Park area.
No weapon was used during the attempt, however, verbal threats towards staff were made.
Munger was then interviewed and arrested for attempted robbery before being booked into the Del Norte County Jail.
