Long-Term Investigation Results in 20 Pounds of Meth and 2 Arrests

The Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement team, after a long-term investigation, made contact with several individuals suspected of trafficking methamphetamine from California into Southern Oregon in a vehicle in Ashland, Oregon on Tuesday, November 5th.

A search warrant was executed on the involved vehicle, and the Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement seized approximately 20 pounds of methamphetamine.  

Subsequently, 42 year old Gabriel Calderon, from Madera, California, and 62 year old Randall Banks, from Sonora, California were arrested and lodged in the Jackson County Jail on charges of Unlawful Delivery, Unlawful Manufacture, and Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine.  

The Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement team is a multi-jurisdictional narcotics task force which includes members from the Medford Police Department, the Jackson County Sheriff, the Eagle Point Police Department, the District Attorney’s Office, Parole and Probation, Homeland Security Investigations, and the FBI, focused on identifying, disrupting, and dismantling local, multi-state, and international drug trafficking organizations.
