Just before 5:30am early Tuesday morning, a logging truck negotiating Hwy. 199 between Hiouchi and Gasquet overturned in the southbound lane, blocking traffic for over an hour.

The truck’s load of logs thankfully overturned away from traffic and a load of logs reportedly fell into a ditch and was not a traffic issue.

The semi-truck did spill fuel on the roadway, completely closing Hwy. 199 as emergency crews and Caltrans cleared the roadway.

The Highway was opened up to controlled one-way traffic just after 6:00am. However, Hwy. 199 would be shut down again just after 7:30am to allow the truck the be cleared from the road.

The driver reportedly suffered no injuries.
