List Threatening Students and an Adult Puts Gold Beach High School in Lockdown

According to a document addressed to Gold Beach Jr/Sr High Families, from Central Curry School District Superintendent Eric Milburn on Wednesday, October 2nd, an investigation was conducted in coordination with the Gold Beach Police Department which included a comprehensive threat assessment after a student from the school allegedly created a list targeting other students and an adult not employed by the school.

The school was placed in a precautionary hold (lockdown) Wednesday to allow police officers and designated staff to inspect student lockers and common areas in a preventative precaution.

It was determined that the responsible student had no access to weapons, and not developed a plan to carry out the threat.

The document went on to state that the families of those named on the students list were directly notified and that the responsible student is no longer enrolled in the Central Curry School District.
