Tuesday morning, July 3rd, at 12:45 am, units from Illinois Valley Fire District, Rural Metro, and the Oregon Department of Forestry responded to a large structure fire on Beebe Rd.
The two-story structure was fully engulfed in flames upon arrival of the first unit and fire was quickly spreading to the wildland surrounding the structure.
As IVFD and Rural Metro worked on the structure the Oregon Department of Forestry concentrated on the wildland fire. The steep terrain and narrow road and driveway made it difficult for all the fire crews, equipment, and support units.
Fire crews remained on scene for several hours mopping up the scene and ensuring that the wildland fire was contained and in no danger of reigniting and causing further damages.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the IVFD Fire Marshal.
