Just before 8:00pm Sunday evening, Illinois Valley Fire District as well as units from additional agencies including Rural Metro Fire, were dispatched to 24025 Redwood Hwy, to reports of a structure fire at the ‘It’s a Burl’ property in Kerby.
First responders observed one building fully involved as first units arrived on scene. After initial assessments the fire was quickly brought under control, and later reports are that the large structure was a workshop next door to the main showroom at ‘It’s a Burl’.
Due to proximity of the fire to Hwy. 199, and subsequent emergency personnel activity, Hwy. 199 was briefly closed in both directions before being reopened to one lane.
No injuries have been reported, and the fire is under investigation.
