At 9:08pm Tuesday evening, March 24th, a 7.5 magnitude earthquake struck across the Pacific off the east coast of the Kuril Islands, Russia.
The large quake was originally measured as 7.8 in magnitude and later revised to a 7.5 magnitude 37 miles deep and generated preliminary Tsunami warnings along the coasts of Alaska, British Columbia, Washington, Oregon and California.
The Tsunami warnings were lifted after it was determined that no tsunami danger for the U.S. West Coast, British Columbia, or Alaska although some of the areas listed may experience non-damaging sea level changes.
