The Lady Bruins took to the basketball floor Tuesday night 1-0 in league play and after being on the road for most of the pre-season they are sure comfortable at home.

The Lady Bruins faced off against the 3-12 Siuslaw Lady Vikings. From the start, the Lady Vikings brought tough play and energy to the floor and played the Lady Bruins tough. A fast-paced first quarter had both teams hitting their shots from inside and outside as both teams fought for control of the game.

Coach Schofield said “We were pretty lethargic defensively in the first half. We let our offensive struggles dictate our energy level”. Senior guard Abby Farmer #00 and senior center Brianna Humphrey led the Lady Bruins offense as each had 5 points off of two baskets and a free throw in the first quarter. Sophomore guard Sidney Alexander #11 hit a three-pointer and junior guard Mickey Fulton #2 finished off the Lady Bruins 15 total points in the first quarter.

The second quarter was all Abby Farmer. A steady diet of shooting from the outside, driving the lane and fast breaks were what was on the menu as she was responsible for all but 2 of the Lady Bruins 9 points in the quarter.
