The Lady Bruins varsity soccer team has qualified for the post season and will play their first game on the road making the over 6 hour trek to Dayton High School, north of Salem and east of McMinnville, Monday afternoon for a Tuesday, November 2nd evening kick-off at 5:00pm.
The 10-3 Lady Bruins overall finished their regular season on a two game win streak after defeating the Lakeview Lady Honkers on the road in Medford, and then shut-out the Lady Red Devils Friday afternoon 6-0 to finish ranked 12th in OSAA rankings.
The Dayton Lady Pirates are sitting on an 11-2-1 overall record, posted three consecutive shut-out wins to finish their season and come into this play-off game on a three game win streak ranked #4 by the OSAA.
Both teams are defensive specialists, with the Lady Bruins handing out 7 clean sheets this year, and Dayton shutting out 9 opponents over the season.
The Lady Bruins will need to control the mid-field and the time of possession while looking to score from the edge of the box to open up their fast-break opportunities, while the defensive backs allow no open looks at the goal or second shot opportunities in what will undoubtedly be a battle of wills.
