According to a Saturday press release from the Del Norte County Sheriff’s Office, an investigation is underway regarding a homicide
that occurred late Friday evening, December 29th, in a Crescent City residence at approximately 10:45 pm.
Prior to deputies arriving to the scene, the suspect, identified as Matthew Rickner, had fled the scene before being apprehended around midnight.
Due to the status of the investigation, no further details can be released at this time.
