Weekend weather is forecast to be more of the same. Temperatures Saturday through Monday will continue to be about 20 degrees above normal for valleys west of the Cascades. The coast will also continue to be much cooler with significant temperature increases just a few miles inland.

Remember rivers are still cold! While it may be tempting to jump into rivers and/or lakes to cool off, remember that the water is still very cold! Jumping into cold water can be hazardous to even healthy people, causing cardiac arrest and potentially numbing extremities making movement difficult or impossible. Be sure to wear a life jacket! Also, ease into the water rather than jump into it and avoid drinking alcohol! Finally, remember that water in area rivers may be running swift and strong currents are possible.
