On Sunday, February 23rd, just after 10:30 am, Oregon State Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a single-vehicle crash on southbound Interstate 5 about 6 miles north of Medford.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a white 1996 Chevrolet SUV, driven by 70-year-old Craig McRae of Vacaville, CA., was southbound on Interstate 5 when for unknown reasons left the roadway, rolled over, and landed in a nearby field off the shoulder off the freeway.

McRae sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased.
Interstate 5 was reduced to one lane for approximately 2.5 hours following the crash as crews worked to remove the vehicle from the shoulder.
