A major crash scene closed Interstate 5 near the Phoenix exit just before 11:00pm late Sunday night, July 4th.
Initial reports were that emergency personnel were initially dispatched to the scene regarding a single vehicle roll-over accident.
As first responders were on the scene with the right lane of I-5 closed with the roll-over crash victim, two other vehicles collided while approaching the scene, crashing into the original crash scene.
Early reports were that emergency personnel were loading the first victim for transport to a local hospital when the ambulance was struck by the two vehicles that had collided while passing the scene, injuring 2 ambulance crew members, as well as another first responder.
Interstate 5 was then closed for approximately 2 hours as emergency personnel assessed and treated all victims of both incidents. The number of victims as well as there condition has not yet been made available, and no deaths have been reported, and
