On Monday, February 3rd, emergency personnel were dispatched to a vehicle collision on Hwy. 199 just north of Gasquet just after 8:30 pm.
According to the California Highway Patrol, 46-year-old Kostadin Biserinkov of Cave Junction was northbound on Hwy. 199 in a gray 2015 Honda.
For unknown reasons the Honda crossed over the double yellow line into southbound traffic and collided with a 1997 Toyota pick up driven by 25-year-old Pa Houa Thao with 21-year-old Mai Ka Ying Thao of Crescent City.
All three people involved sustained considerable injuries and were taken to local hospitals.
The incident remains under investigation, however, alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be a factor at this time.
