A strong trough of low pressure has opened the door for an atmospheric river of moisture that is forecast into midweek as two strong weather systems impact the northwest with moderate to heavy periods of rain and possible snow at the highest elevations.
Inland areas are expected to see rain to start the work week with increasing winds midweek. High temperatures will be in the low to mid 50’s, into midweek with morning lows starting in the low to mid 40’s.
Along the coast, heavy rain is forecast through midweek with high surf and high wind watches distributed by the National Weather Service. Afternoon highs will be in the low to mid 50’s with early morning lows in the mid to upper 40’s.
