A high pressure system circulating in the southwest is forecast to strengthen and build over the next few days, creating circumstances that are forecast to bring the southern Oregon and northern California regions the hottest temperatures so far this summer as temperatures soar to triple digits.
Inland areas are under a Heat Advisory issued by the National Weather Service beginning Friday and are forecast to see clear skies and sun with inland valleys temperatures offering little overnight relief with lows hovering at around 60 degrees, and afternoon highs reaching to triple digits into the weekend.
Along the coast, the National Weather Service has also issued a Heat Advisory through the weekend, with northern California beaches experiencing breezy afternoons and winds gusting to 20mph. Skies are forecast to be partly cloudy to mostly sunny through the weekend, with high temperatures getting up to low 80’s in some areas.
