Harbor Fire Department announced the passing of their beloved Chief John Brazil late last week following a short illness.
Chief Brazil served our community since June of 2002 when he joined as a Firefighter and quickly moved through the ranks ultimately becoming Chief in June 2007. During his tenure at the department, Chief responded to 4,303 calls which represents an 89% attendance.
Chief Brazil has touched the lives of so many inside and outside of the department. He will be remembered most within the department for his leadership and dedication to serving our community.
Memorial services for Chief Brazil will commence at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 25th at Capella By The Sea in Azalea Park, 200 North Bank Chetco River Road, Brookings Oregon.
There will be a procession which will leave the Kite Field in Harbor around 10:00 am, travel up West Benham Lane past the Harbor Fire Hall and proceed North onto Highway 101 to Azalea Park via North Bank Chetco River Rd.
After the conclusion of services, there will be a reception at The Harbor Fire Hall located at 98069 W. Benham Lane, Harbor, OR, 97415. The public is invited to attend.
