Early Sunday morning, August 26th, units from Illinois Valley Fire District, Oregon Department of Forestry, and Rural Metro responded to a Structure Fire on Redwood HWY just south of Sauers Flat.
The structure fire was fully involved when units were dispatched and spreading into the wildland. Illinois Valley Fire District and Oregon Department of Forestry quickly controlled the progression of the fire into the wildland, as other units from Illinois Valley Fire and Rural Metro suppressed the Structure Fire.
Illinois Valley Fire deployed their portable tank allowing the Engine to continually draw water from the tank while allowing the Tenders (water trucks) to quickly drop their load of water into the tank through a large water shoot.
An American Medical Response ambulance was on scene to transport if needed as the Illinois Valley Fire Civil Emergency Response Team provided traffic control, stopping or narrowing traffic to provide a safe working area for all the 1st responders.
