Excessive Heat, Red Flag Warnings and Air Quality Alerts in Weekend Forecast

A front continues to pull moisture and an unstable air-mass up through southern Nevada and northern California bringing a slight chance of afternoon and evening thunderstorms inland.

Inland, hot temperatures will cover most of the area Thursday and Friday with high temps between 100 to 105 degrees in the Rogue, Illinois and Applegate valleys. Lows again will offer little relief only cooling to the low 70’s at night.

Along the coast, smoke from surrounding wildfires will continue to remain over the area prompting the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality to issued an Air Pollution Advisory that will remain in effect until further notice. Temperatures are forecast to reach up to the low 70’s in some locations Thursday and Friday with lows in the mid 50’s.
