If you plan on outdoor activity, be aware that temperatures are forecast in the high 90’s and into the 100’s through the weekend! Take precautions to stay safe.
On Wednesday and Thursday, high temperatures will jump another 4 to 8 degrees above Tuesday’s high temperatures, reaching above 100 degrees in the hotter inland valleys.
The hottest weather of the season thus far will impact inland areas starting Thursday, and possibly continuing through the weekend.
Brookings
Temperatures will be around 20 degrees above normal for this time of year, and relief at night may be limited as lows in some areas could stay in the mid 60s to low 70s.
Medford
These hot temperatures will increase the potential for heat-related illness for those who are sensitive to heat.
Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outdoors and know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Additionally, never leave children, the elderly, or pets unattended in cars.
There is also a chance for thunderstorms across the interior mountains as monsoonal moisture moves up from the south Thursday through Saturday. Exact timing and location of the greatest threat is still uncertain.
