On Saturday morning, December 12th, while investigating an previous vehicle crash on a snow covered on Hwy. 97, three Klamath Falls Police Department marked patrol vehicles and one Klamath County Fire District #1 fire engine were struck by passing traffic.
All emergency vehicles were parked on the west side of the highway just before 8:45am when two other Commercial Motor Vehicles were traveling southbound passed the crash scene. The first Commercial Motor Vehicle collided with one patrol car and struck the Klamath County Fire District fire engine #1. The next Commercial Motor Vehicle collided with all three patrol vehicles and struck the fire engine.
According to the report, the second Commercial Motor Vehicle remained on the scene of the crash, however, the first Commercial Motor Vehicle that initially struck one patrol car and the Klamath County Fire District fire engine, did not stop and continued traveling southbound has not been located.
