Del Norte County Sheriff’s dispatch received a call very early Sunday morning, at approximately 12:30am, from Regional Airport in Crescent City regarding an individual reportedly siphoning gas from vehicles in the parking lot.
Del Norte County Sheriff’s Deputies responded and located the subject in question, who was later identified as 27 year old Robert Dale, of Crescent City. Deputies also located a gas can under his car as well as tubing used to siphon the gas.
Robert Dale was arrested and transported to the Del Norte County Jail and booked on two counts of vehicle tampering, and one count of malicious mischief.
“A job well done by the deputies and dispatcher whose combined efforts helped to locate and arrest this suspect while the crime was in progress.” Sheriff Scott said. “We are actively investigating this suspect for similar crimes in the Del Norte County area and will continue our efforts to pursue further criminal charges.”
