At approximately 3:17am early Saturday morning, Brookings and Harbor fire departments were dispatched to an active structure fire reported by law enforcement to be at least one structure fully involved on the 1300 block of Moore St. in Brookings.
The first arriving units came visual flames and multiple structures in various levels of fire damage. The first building was beyond saving and the detached 2 story garage was also completely compromised. A separate structure just to the north was also considerably damaged by the spreading fire, and residents were displaced.
Multiple subjects were reported in the area and video surveillance is being recovered as Officers and Detectives from the Brookings Police Department with Oregon State Police Police Arson Investigators examine the scene for the cause of the blaze.
Mutual Aid protocols brought units from Gold Beach, Cape Ferrelo, Smith River and Crescent City.
