On Sunday afternoon, November 10th, at about 3:30pm, Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies on patrol attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by wanted felony warrant subject Robert Joseph Cullen. Cullen failed to yield to deputies and a pursuit ensued.
Deputies pursued Cullen and during the pursuit Cullen struck multiple patrol vehicles as he evaded deputies. Due to unsafe road conditions, deputies were unable to continue the pursuit, losing sight of the vehicle.
California Highway Patrol officers, a CHP helicopter and the Humboldt County Sheriff’s K9 Unit were deployed to assist in locating Cullen.
Deputies located Cullen’s vehicle unoccupied in heavy brush just after 6:00pm p.m. in the Seely Creek area. During a search of the vehicle, deputies located multiple firearms, ammunition and magazines, body armor, a large amount of cash, approximately 148 grams of heroin, approximately 1 pound of methamphetamine, approximately 23 pounds of cannabis packaged for sales, prescription medications and materials consistent with the sale of controlled substances.
Deputies conducted an extensive search of the surrounding area but were unable to locate Cullen.
Cullen is described as a white male adult, 30 years old, approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall, 150 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He is believed to be armed and dangerous. If you see Cullen, do not approach him, but call 9-1-1.
