A Del Norte County Sheriff Deputy was found deceased in her home Thursday morning, October 12th, prompting an investigation and warrant for the Deputy’s boyfriend.
Del Norte County Sheriff Deputy, Deanna Esmaeel, was found deceased in her home on North Bank Road just north of Crescent City Thursday morning, and after initial investigation, a warrant was issued for the arrest of the Deputy’s boyfriend identified as Daniel James Walter.
Authorities issued a ‘Be On the Lookout’ alert for the suspects black 2010 Mazda 4 door sedan before that vehicle was located just after 2:00pm Friday afternoon, with Walter still on the run.
At approximately 7:20pm, Daniel James Walter was located and detained by the Brookings Police Department, and is reportedly in custody in Curry County, Oregon.
No further details are available at this time as this is an ongoing homicide investigation.
