An update from Del Norte County Search and Rescue regarding the missing 74 year old Washington woman who has been missing in the Gasquet area since Saturday, February 4th, after becoming separated from her adult daughter and husband while mushroom hunting, revealed that as of Monday, February 13th, that search teams continued through very difficult terrain and that significant progress had been made around planned routes.
On Tuesday, February 14th, officials were forced to suspend searching due to inclement weather as conditions declined rapidly including light snow at lower elevations and temperatures dropping into the lower digits.
Accordiing to the Del Norte County Search and Rescue press release, currently 132 resources have committed their time accumulating more than 6000 hours to the search, and that does not include aircraft reconnaissance or their teams.
