Curry Health Network Same Day Appointments to Change

Beginning TODAY, Saturday, April 4, Same Day Appointments at Curry Medical Center in Brookings will be offered Monday through Friday only.

Curry Health Network’s highest priority is the health and safety of our patients and staff. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, they are thankful their community members and patients are following the Governor’s social distancing guidelines to reduce risk of infection for themselves and others. However, these wise decisions are creating a decrease in the number of patients visiting their primary care providers and utilizing the Same Day Appointment clinic.

Curry Health Network recognizes the high level of interested in Telehealth appointments, especially so during this time. Curry Health Network is working diligently to make Telehealth appointments available to its patients, and in fact, have seen their first 3 patients recently utilizing Telehealth. More equipment needs to be purchased before it can be offered widely.

Due to temporary declining patient volumes, it is necessary that Curry Health Network restructure its same day and primary care services effective April 4, 2020 to make best use of its resources. During this time, the number of providers and support staff working in the clinics will be decreased, and we will be focusing on urgent and acute visits.

Effective Saturday, April 4, Same Day Appointments will be offered Monday through Friday only.

Clinic staff will be contacting all patients with an existing scheduled appoint to discuss options of coming in and seeing one of the providers who is scheduled for that particular day, setting up a telehealth appointment, or rescheduling for a future visit.

Curry Health Network remains committed to caring for our patients, staff and community. Please be assured that all clinics will remain open with staff available to communicate with patients, arrange for medication refills, and provide care.
