Early Saturday evening, February 22nd, Gold Beach Police responded to reports of a disturbance at approximately 7:40pm, at an address on June Street in Gold Beach.

According to a Curry County District Attorney Joshua A. Spansail press release, the first responding officer discharged his firearm based on events that took place upon his initial arrival on the scene, striking the subject.
The suspect was treated and transported to Curry General Hospital before being transferred to Springfield for further treatment.
It was determined that there had been no danger to public following the incident.
The incident prompted activation of an investigation of the incident led the Oregon State Police and the Curry County Major Crimes Team which is standard protocol for an officer involved shooting.
