Sunday morning, May 10th, the Del Norte County Sheriff’s Office responded to Turnbull Lane in Crescent City for a report of a shooting at approximately 9:30am. Deputies arrived minutes later and secured the scene with the help of the California Highway Patrol.
Inside the residence, an adult male and an adult female, both in their 50s, were found deceased. Early stages of the investigation have revealed that the two deceased people did not live in the house that they were found in, although the male did live on the property.
Statements and evidence are indicating that the two deceased people forced their way into the residence along with their dog and assaulted the two people that were occupying the residence. The two people that were occupying the residence are cooperating with law enforcement.
No arrests have been made and the evidence will continue to be processed as an investigation is ongoing with assistance from the Del Norte County District Attorney’s Office and the Eureka Department of Justice crime lab.
