On Monday evening, September 9th, during a Crescent City Police traffic stop on Elk Valley Road, a Crescent City K9 alerted to the odor of narcotics.
During the stop, K9 Sgt. Murtaugh was deployed and alerted to narcotics during a free air sniff of the vehicle and several grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were discovered during the subsequent search of the vehicle.
42 year old Cara Haynie and 69 year old George Ruth were arrested and booked in the Del Norte County Jail.
